Operations Supervisor - Policy Services
Responsible for Operations Policy Services/Claims Set-up teams. This candidate will be responsible for development and mentorship of their employees by managing personnel and day-to-day activities for designated team. They will manage and allocate resources, create or improve workflows, disseminate information to team members, ensure compliance with HSB standards and practices and overseeing quality control activities. They will do this by consistently applying performance management practices to all individuals, communicating issues, concerns, or procedures with managers and U/C managers and actively identifying and communicating training issues and opportunities.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
2+ years of customer service experience
2+ years of previous leadership or supervisory experience
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and meeting facilitation skills.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills, workflow development, and staff scheduling to ensure coverage.
Strong leadership and communication skills with a high degree of initiative, coaching and mentoring skills/abilities.
Time management skills and ability to manage expectations
Initiative to create and challenge procedures to increase performance.
Take the lead in creating solutions and resolving problems.
Adaptable to change and available to work with no restrictions during team working hours (Monday - Saturday, 7:30-8pm)
Bachelor's Degree in related field or insurance designations
5+ years of previous leadership or supervisory experience
2+ years of Underwriting experience
Insurance or Business Operations related certifications and training (IE Six Sigma, ANIS, CPCU, ARM)
Previous experience with workflow management tools (IE BPM)
Experience in leading cross-functional projects
Ability to communicate across all business units to present ideas and progress updates, understanding of general underwriting concepts.
Ability to understand customer need and negotiate an acceptable resolution.
Willingness to pursue additional designations/certifications or training courses.
